Rafael F. A. Gomes received his M. Pharma from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL) in 2014. Following a short stay in Maulide Group at the University of Vienna, he obtained his doctoral degree in 2019 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Afonso. He was a recipient of the best PhD thesis award from the Portuguese Chemical Society and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. His research interests are the valorisation of biomass derivatives by diversity-orientated synthesis and the discovery of new sustainable scaffolds/platforms for drug discovery.
