Teresa Moura is MSc in Chemical Engineering and PhD in Physiology, University of California Berkeley, USA. Her main area of research is biophysics of membrane transport at macromolecular, vesicular, cellular and epithelial levels, with emphasis in water, ion and solute transport. She has been dedicated to the study of aquaporins and ion channels, their kinetics and regulation. She is specialized in mathematical modelling and numerical simulations applied to the transient and steady state movements of water, solutes and ions across biological barriers of different complexities and their response to the action of modulators.
