Rita Manguinhas has a BSc degree (2015) in Biochemistry, FCT, NOVA University, Lisbon, Portugal and completed an MSc degree (2019) in Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon (FFUL), Lisbon, Portugal. She also attended a one-year specialization course (2017) in Forensic Medical Sciences, ICBAS, University of Porto, Porto. She completed 3 internships in her career, namely at Gulbenkian Institute of Science, National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (INMLCF, I.P.) – Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology Service, and University of Notthingham, United Kingdom. She is author/co-author of 5 full-papers in Q1 journals. Moreover, she was also author/co-author of 7 oral and 7 poster presentations in national and international congresses/meetings. Rita is now a PhD student at Instituto de Investigação do Medicamento (iMed) from FFUL. Currently, her research interests are in the area of DNA repair inhibitors and their usefulness to improve current therapies in lung cancer.
