Rita is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Florindo Lab since 2020 focusing on effective immunotherapeutic approaches against cancer. Her background is based on chemistry, more specifically on organic chemistry. However, after finishing her organic chemistry master’s degree, she was awarded a research fellowship at the João Gonçalves Lab at iMed.ULisboa, which allowed her to participate in different ongoing projects, in a framework of molecular biotechnology and immunology. In 2016, she was successfully awarded a PhD grant where she developed an interdisciplinary PhD research project combining her acquired knowledge in immunology with her strong background in chemistry focused on immuno-oncology. In December of 2019, she completed her PhD in Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon.
