Short bio & current area(s) of interest
Ricardo Cláudio, PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of Portsmouth (UK) and MSc from Technical University of Lisbon (Portugal) has been a Professor at Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal – Setúbal School of Technology – Department of Mechanical Engineering, for more than 20 years. He published 18 scientific articles in international indexed journals, has more than 30 communications in scientific conferences and has 1 national patent. RC built several reference equipment’s, with emphasis in a biaxial in-plane fatigue apparatus, based in linear electrical actuators, and a large size high precision 3D printer. His technical interests are in the areas of fatigue, fracture, mechanical testing, numerical simulations, and 3D printing of advanced polymeric materials with focus on mechanical properties and precision. He participated and coordinated several funded projects and is currently coordinating a project aiming to increase the precision and mechanical behavior of 3D printed parts for production support, with special focus on the aeronautical industry.
