Nuno Baltazar do Carmo has a BSc (5 years) in Biology by Universidade de Évora, Évora, Portugal, a MSc in Clinical Microbiology by Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Lisboa and a PhD in Pharmacy- Molecular and Celular Biology by Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa. Began his career in 2004 at the University of Cambridge, Department of Genetics, Cambridge, UK, and worked in Portugal at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência , Instituto de Medicina Molecular, Center of Molecular Pathogenesis-URIA, University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal and presently at iMed “Host-pathogen interactions” laboratory. His interests are in the area of Medical and Health Sciences with an emphasis on infectious diseases particularly in cellular and molecular biology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and HIV host interactions.
