Currently is an Assistant Professor at the FFULisboa, Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, involved in several undergraduate and post-graduated subjects (coordinating and teaching), namely: Pharmaceutical Technology, Quality control, Chemometrics, Applied Statistics & Data Analysis. Specific additional topics in post-graduation courses include Quality systems, Control of finished and intermediate drug products; Analytical method Validation; Drug product stability planning and data analysis; Regulatory requirements. Additional experience in advanced training courses included Dealing with OOS and OOT results in stability, Matrixing and Bracketing in drug stability planning and assessment studies data for industry Lab and RA technical staff as well as Quality control and Regulatory Tests in the finished drug product for industry lab technicians. Experienced in planning, supervising, executing and reporting analytical method validation. Acts as an Advisor and senior quality assessor for the WHO-Essential Medicines Prequalification, UNICEF-Copenhagen (since 2005); Medicines Quality Assessor at the Directorate General for Food and Veterinary (since 2010) and Member of the Scientific board of the Portuguese Metrologic Soc. (since 2004). Authored (or co-authored) 50 peer-reviewed papers in indexed journals, 20 conference proceedings, 90+ conference commu¬nications, 2 invited book chapters. He also developed 20+ computational applications (stand-alone and Excel based) tailored towards statistical analysis, chemometrics, quality control of medicines, drug modelling and simulation. He is involved in several FCT and European funded projects and supervised (or co-supervised) several undergraduate, Master, PhD and Post-doc students.
