Inês Vieira da Silva graduated (BSc and MSc) in Cell Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Lisbon in 2010 and received her PhD in Pharmacy, specialty Biochemistry from the same University in 2019, with the experimental work conducted at the Biological Transport Group (BioLTransp), iMed.ULisboa, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon; Institute of Biomedicines (Faculty of Biology, University of Barcelona, Spain) and Biomedical Research Institute of Murcia (Hospital Virgen de Arrixaca, Spain). Since 2019, she is postdoctoral researcher at the Membrane Transporters in Health & Disease group, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon and her research has been focused on the role of aquaporins in biological systems. Her scientific interests are centered on understanding the aquaporins contribution and mechanisms underlying aquaporins defects that may lead to disease, identifying possible promising targets for drug discovery for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Inês Vieira da Silva has published 19 indexed peer-reviewed publications, which received around 200 citations (Scopus: h-index 8). In addition, she authored 1 book chapter. Her work has been presented through 11 oral and 29 poster communications in national and international conferences. She is supervisor of 1 MSc dissertation and was main opponent in one master thesis.
