Gecioni Loch-Neckel has a degree in Pharmacy and master’s MSc in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. She holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the same institution. Her thesis examined the action of a chalcone in brain cancer. She won post-doctoral fellowship where she explored the biopharmaceutical properties of nanostructured systems containing active substances of natural origin. She is currently postdoctoral researcher in Neuroinflammation, Signaling and Neuroregeneration Lab at iMed.ULisboa. Her main research interests are drug delivery systems to central nervous system diseases and cancer.
