Cristina M. M. Almeida was involved in using the instrumental tool to characterize environmental and food matrices, mainly water matrices. In analytical chemistry, her primary focus has been chromatographic techniques (GC, HPLC, UPLC) coupled to mass spectrometry. Expertise in the field of implementation and validation of analytical methods and occurrence studies. The main compounds under investigation include the endocrine disrupter compounds, mycotoxins, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and pharmaceutical active compounds. Some research in vivo area has also been used. The disinfection and disinfection by-products is another area of study. Cristina M.M. Almeida has collaborated in national and international projects, mainly in the environmental area. Cristina M.M. Almeida has collaborated with water laboratories in many projects related to water quality, mainly with EPAL (Empresa Portuguesa das Águas Livres). Since 2004, Cristina M. M.
