Cátia Ramalhete is graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2005) and receives her PhD degree in 2010 in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from Faculty of Pharmacy, Lisbon University. Since 2010, she is an Assistant Professor at Atlântica – Instituto Universitário and ESSATLA, being responsible for the disciplines of Pharmacology, Immunology and Microbiology from the different degrees taught in these institutions. Her research interests are focused on the isolation, derivatization and structural characterization of bioactive compounds from African medicinal plants, with particular emphasis to those showing anticancer activity, MDR reversing activity.
