Bernardo Ratilal is a neurosurgeon, currently working as a graduate assistant in Neurosurgery at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central, EPE, and Hospital CUF Descobertas. With a background in the experimental animal model of transient middle cerebral artery ischemia-reperfusion and with over than 4,500 neurosurgeries performed, he has been also dedicated to vascular neurosurgery (aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, bypass). He has published over 20 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, performed over 50 communications in national and international congresses and acts as invited reviewer of international peer-reviewed journals in the area of Neuroscience. Additionally, in the Health Regulatory area, he is Clinical Assessor for the Medicines Evaluation Committee (CAM) at Infarmed (National Authority of Medicines and Health Products) and Clinical Assessor at the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
