Prof Ana Martinez is full professor since 2009 at Biological Research Center of Spanish Council for Research (CIB-CSIC) and member of Biomedical Research center on neurodegenerative diseases (CIBERNEDISCiii). Her main interests are in the Discovery and development of effective treatments for CNS unmet diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal cord trauma and multiple sclerosis. Most significant outputs are to move three compounds born in her lab to clinical trials (Tideglusib, a GSK3 inhibitor, NP-61and S14. Author of > 300 publications (h=50) and head of several ongoing projects, including the EU-OPENSCREEN-DRIVE and LaCaixa project on ALS with FFUL as Institutional member (PI: Dora Brites). She is/was mentor of more than 50 PhD/master students.
