Ana Margarida Madureira graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon in 1988. In 2004 she completed her PhD in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) at the same institution. She is currently Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medicines at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon. Ana Margarida Madureira develops research work mainly in the area of Natural Products, in the search for bioactive compounds, namely evaluating the antibacterial and anticancer activity of isolated plant products. In addition, she is responsible for a level 2 biological laboratory dedicated to cell line assays and cultures.
