PhD in Pharmacoepidemiology (Lisbon University) since 2010 and Master in Public Health since 2001. Graduated with a Pharmacy Degree, by of Lisbon University since 1990, she has been member of the Executive Board of INFARMED – National Health Authority for Medicines and Health Products from 2017 to 2019. Before joined INFARMED, she was a Regulatory Affairs consultant for several multinational companies, with special focus on medical devices and cosmetic products. She has worked as regulatory and safety officer of a multinational company, distributing medicines, medical devices and cosmetic products in Portugal and responsible person for the product registration in Portugal, pharmacovigilance and consumer’s enquiries management, as well as the training company employees. She also worked as a Community pharmacist and as director of Regulatory Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry. As academic, she is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lisbon University, Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Legislation (drugs, medical devices and cosmetic products), and Public Health. Lecturer of Public Health and Pharmacoepidemiology and she has been participating in several post-graduation courses in the field of the regulatory affairs (drugs, medical devices and cosmetic products). She is a researcher in the Research Line in Pharmacoepidemiology of the CHRC – Comprehensive Health Research Center, supervisor and co-supervisor of several research projects within the framework of Public Health, Epidemiology, Drug Usage Studies and Regulatory Sciences. She has been head of research in several consulting studies in the field of pharmacoepidemiology and regulatory science, particularly for the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory bodies, including INFARMED. Principal researcher of an European financed project – Simpathic (repurposing medicines) During her professional and academic years she author or co-author about 30 communications and presentations in the form of panel conferences and national and international scientific meetings, 18 publications in international journals, 2 books and 5 book chapters and she is member of several professional societies. She is member of the Scientific Board of ANSM – French medicines agency (since 2023).
