Graça Soveral, Full Professor and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Lisbon, and group leader of the Membrane Transporters in Health & Disease group at iMed.ULisboa was elected as vice-president of FEBS (Federation of European Biochemical Societies) for 2023, and as President for 2024.

FEBS was founded on January 1st,1964 and is one of Europe’s largest organizations in the molecular life sciences.

It has over 35000 members across more than 35 biochemistry and molecular biology societies in different countries of Europe and neighbouring regions. FEBS supports biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, molecular biophysics and related research areas.
