iMed.ULisboa researchers’ paper on COVID-19 featured in Nature Nanotechnology
iMed.ULisboa researchers Helena Florindo, Bárbara Carreira and Rita Acúrcio of the Drug Delivery & Immunoengineering Lab published a review manuscript entitled Immune-mediated approaches against COVID-19 on Nature Nanotechnology last July. This paper is the result of a collaborative literature review of iMed.ULisboa researchers and Professor Ronit Satchi-Fainaro team at Tel Aviv University, and was featured in the cover (image credits to Rita Acúrcio) of the prestigious scientific journal in the August 2020 edition.
This work constitutes a valuable contribution to the research community as it presents a comprehensive overview of SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis and examines immune-mediated approaches currently explored for COVID-19 treatments, with an emphasis on nanotechnological tools, which are expected to play a paramount role in prophylactic and therapeutic approaches.
