Rita Soares has a BSc degree in Applied Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology – NOVA University of Lisbon (2020) and a MSc in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy – University of Lisbon (2022).
During her master’s thesis she assessed the effect of redox-active compounds in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines either alone or combined with cisplatin in order to enhance its cytotoxicity. Rita has authored 2 articles as the main author, 1 published abstract, 2 oral communications and poster presentations, and 1 grant. She is also a member of the Portuguese Society of Pharmacology (SPF). Currently, Rita is a research fellow within the frame of the project “NER Inhibitors: Enhancing the Efficacy of Platinum-Based Therapy in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer” funded by Champalimaud Foundation.
