Catarina Oliveira Silva received her PharmD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2012 from Universidade Lusófona (Portugal). Her PhD degree in Health Sciences was awarded by the University of Alcalá de Henares in 2016, as a joint program between several national and international universities. She was a research student at CIMUS, University of Santiago de Compostela (2012) and at the University of Aalborg (2014). She also collaborated as assistance lecturer at Universidade Lusófona (2012-2016). Her research interests include nanoparticles design, biomedical sciences, topical and transdermal drug delivery systems, oncology, and cancer research (skin cancer). She was awarded with Prémio Extraordinário de Doctorado 2016/17 (UAH) and short-listed (final 10) for the 2017 Nanotechnology Young Researcher Award. Currently, she works in scientific consultancy for nonclinical and clinical research in different areas, such as oncology, immunology, neurology, and infectious diseases.
