Research Interests

• Isolation and structural characterization of compounds by spectroscopic methods (NMR techniques and mass spectrometry).

• Phytochemical study and biological evaluation of native plants from Portugal flora and African plants used in traditional medicine to treat cancer and infectious diseases.

• Evaluation of several bioactivities of extracts/compounds, namely antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant and cytotoxicity activity, using an enlarge panel of microorganisms and cell systems.
