Public Engagement

iMed.ULisboa encourages public engagement on the research that we do. Several activities provide a range of opportunities for our scientists to commit to public engagement.

  • L’Oreal Medal of Honor for Women in Science
Open to female scientists in the Portugal who hold a PhD awarded within the last 10 years, the L’Oreal Medal of Honor for Women in Science are organised in partnership with the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) and UNESCO. Three Fellowships of 20 k€ each are awarded each year, designed to celebrate and support the contribution of Portuguese women researchers in the life- and physical sciences.
Two female scientists at iMed.Ulisboa have been awarded the L’Oreal Medal of Honor for Women in Science, in 2008 and 2011.
