Science & Society

iMed.ULisboa strongly engages in knowledge and technology exchange initiatives; we provide services, generate patents and prototypes, and transfer technology to spin-offs, pharma and hospitals.

Rapid and open data sharing strategically supports our mission by enabling research and accelerating translation.

Outreach activities for schools and the general public are also stimulated and often supported through national and international competitive funds for outreach, including interactive workshops, Open Day initiatives, visits to schools, art and science exhibitions, videos, social media and others, and appearances in the media and communicating research to health professionals, patient groups and policy-makers.

We recognize our responsibility to inform the public, policy-makers and partners about our work, and have developed effective relationships with a range of audiences.
