Young Investigator’s Projects for Collaborative Cross-disciplinary Studies at iMed.ULisboa
In 2019, iMed.ULisboa launched another call for Young Investigator’s Projects for Collaborative Cross-disciplinary Studies proposals to encourage collaborative efforts across traditional boundaries, with a view to adding value to their existing activities.
The results have recently been released. Applications were reviewed by an international expert panel. Three projects were recommended for funding, one entitled “Engineering hybrid exosomes as microRNAs nanocarriers to microglia in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis” led by Ana Rita Vaz and Liane Moura (Neuron-Glia Biology in Health and Disease and BioNanoSciences – Drug Delivery and Immunotherapy), the other entitled “Targeting cancer stem cells with artemisinin-vinyl sulfone hybrids: towards target identification” led by Marta B. Afonso and Rita Capela (Cellular Function and Therapeutic Targeting and Medicinal Chemistry) and the other “Ion jelly-Sensing Smart 3D Patch for transdermal drug delivery” led by Andreia Rosatella and Joana Marto (Bioorganic Chemistry and Nanostructured Systems for Overcoming Biological Barriers).
Each project received 5 000 € and will now run for one year, reporting back on scientific achievements by the end of the project period.
