Research Interests

SDLucas is dedicated to the virtual screening and focused structure-based design of Human Neutrophil Elastase inhibitors as a combined approach to boost discovery of drug candidates for the treatment of COPD, namely by the development and validation of molecular docking tools to seek for and optimize new inhibitors with new architectures. The know-how in protease inhibitors and molecular modelling is being applied to the construction of activity-based molecular probes toward therapeutics, target identification and biomarker discovery.
