Has been interested in mechanisms associated with interactions between chemicals and biological systems. In particular, the research work is focused on: a) the development of 3D cell cultures for toxicological and cell therapy studies, b) the development of novel macrocyclic compounds, namely catalytical antioxidants (superoxide dismutase mimetics) and anti-angiogenic agents (Cu(II) chelators); c) biocompatibility studies of acrylic and ceramic based biomaterials.
