Research Interests

João Lopes current research interests are focused on the mathematical modelling aspects of solid dosage forms and nanoparticulate systems for modified drug delivery including manufacturing aspects focused on process analytical technology methodologies and incorporating concepts as QbD. He founded and coordinates since 2008 the research unit “Chemometrics and Process Analytical Technology” located at the FFUP. Multiple PAT-based systems for fast assessment of quality attributes of different products have been developed in partnership with industrial companies.
