Ribeiro´s work lies mainly in the area of Biotechnology and Bioprocesses, covering production of bioactive molecules and their bioseparation. Current studies have been focused on the biosynthesis of biosurfactants (glycolipids), with pharmaceutical interest, in mini-reactors as well as their LC-MS characterization.
The researcher has also developed work in biocatalysis of bioactive compounds and downstream processing of biomolecules (e.g. glycolipids, antibiotics) from fermentation broth with different polymeric adsorbents.
