The research of Isabel Ribeiro lies mainly on the Biotech and Bioprocesses field, covering the production of bioactive molecules and their bioseparation. Recent studies have been focused on the biosynthesis of biosurfactants (glycolipids), with pharmaceutical relevance, and their LC-MS characterization. Presently, she has been interested in the development of new materials functionalized with biosynthesized antimicrobial biosurfactants intended for improved medical devices with antibiofillm activity.
